For many of us, being diagnosed with Young Onset Parkinson’s means we still have a long road ahead—and a chance to build fulfilling lives and careers. Yet, even today, women often face unequal access to resources, coaching, and support in entrepreneurship. Many dream of creating new opportunities but may lack the time, motivation, or funds to invest in business coaching and supportive communities. This grant aims to close that gap by providing the guidance, community, and resources women need to turn their dreams into reality.

Whether you’re running a business or ready to share your creativity with the world—through writing, art, or other ventures—this grant is designed to help you maximize efficiency, create passive income, connect to a supportive community, and find more time to do things that spark joy as you grow.

"I am wildly creative at heart,

and I find a real zest for life when I have an exciting creative project in front of me, along with an awesome community to bounce ideas off of and motivate me. I love that this program can be as intense or relaxed as I need, and it’s flexible enough to work around the curve balls that PD can throw at me."

As a women diagnosed with YOPD at 31, I know firsthand the importance of a flexible career. After the first four years of symptoms starting I was pushing myself three hours a day to a stressful corporate job and overcompensating and working extra hours to hide my diagnosis, I felt trapped and exhausted.

By chance, an opportunity came my way to freelance remotely, for a small creative agency. If I could help grow their business, it would mean more work and $ for me. I took the leap and realized that entrepreneurship could provide the freedom to create multiple income streams, set my own hours, and focus on what worked for my health allowing me a little more wiggle room when unpredictable health issues arose.

The best part was that the effort I put in directly impacted my success, unlike the countless overtime hours in corporate life where I was rewarded with performance reviews and small bonuses. With entrepreneurship, I could achieve goals, be rewarded by my own success.

Living with a disease like this can really change your perspective on life and what matters. I still have a long life to live and a family to support. I want the work that I do to mean something to me. I want to make an impact and a difference in the world. And most importantly I want live a life that I enjoy.

By leaning into my creativity, I’ve found that entrepreneurship not only gave me more control but also supported my brain health and well-being. It gave me the confidence to move past my disease and connect with a community of loving, supportive women who genuinely care about my success. This heart-centered group of female entrepreneurs encourages and uplifts each other, regardless of age, experience, or physical limitations.
