Have you tried meditating?

This was a question I often heard from many healing practitioners in my journey to heal my body. Meditate? Yeah right, I thought, as I could hardly settle my mind for 5 minutes without thinking about the 50 million things I have to do.

In more recent years, the question was usually followed by asking if I have heard of Dr. Joe Dispenza and his book "Becoming Supernatural."

It wasn't until I was flipping through shows on Gaia and noticed that Dr. Joe had a series called Rewired. In this series, Dr. Dispenza reveals the secrets of quantum physics, neuroscience, and meditation for rewiring your brain and building coherence with your being. The goal is to move from thinking to doing to being, as a new person in a new future that you have intentionally created, and ultimately learn to heal yourself.

I knew I had to get to one of these events to experience this for myself.

As it would have it, fate stepped in, and I was lucky enough to attend the Week-long Advanced Retreat in November 2023 in Orlando, Florida.

I had no idea how I was going to manage meditating for a full week retreat, as I couldn’t even manage longer than 20 mins. But there are actually prerequisite online courses you are required to complete 60 days before attending the workshop, which were super helpful and gave me so much more understanding of the theory behind what we would be doing.

I've been looking for the words to describe this incredible experience at the weeklong advanced retreat. There were so many incredible, beautiful experiences that I am looking forward to sharing. All I can say for now is that it has completely changed me and my entire perspective on how I have been living my life and what I need to change to become the person I want to be.

I was so amazed by what I was able to achieve and do at this retreat. My busy, static mind was able to calm down, and I was able to meditate in 90-minute stints three times a day. Not only that, but during the meditations, I was able to get my body to become completely relaxed and pain-free. And for someone who feels their body shaking and spasming all day long, that was pretty epic.

That week, I went to war with myself, to overcome my body and teach it that it is not the mind.

I am in control of my thoughts, energy, and the world around me. And I came home with a new outlook; to heal my body, I really needed to look at how I respond and react to my current reality, and change the habits and addictions that no longer serve me. I have realized that so much of what I had been doing was actually causing my illness to get worse. So, I have really taken a step back from all of it.

I am dedicated to doing the work I need to do to change and heal my body, mind, and soul. Since attending the retreat 60 days ago, I continue to meditate every day and practice shifting my thoughts and feelings to be in a state of gratitude and love.
